Episode 26 + volume 3 spoilers

Hello everyone!

I managed to post episode 26 on time and I'm pretty caught up with Volume 3's art progress!
It will be posted some time this coming week or next Saturday, but for now, I will post a lineart and sketch spoiler for those who want to see what's happening for the next 13 episodes!

WARNING: Starting from Volume 3, the plot gets A LOT darker. There will be much more bloodsheds, deaths, tears, and worldly turmoil. Be prepared.
There seems to be new characters who will debut in the mid episode 30's, and of course, some returning characters such as Forrest and Jess.

As for other updates, the About tab and Music list have been updated (volume 3's opening/ending of episode 27 is posted as well!)

Episode 26 - Like Father, Like Son

The Obsidian Tale

Episode 26
[Opening 2 music]

~ Bafuul – central hallway ~

Felix, Forrest, Leo, and Warren made their way onto one of the three small airships sitting in the central hallway. Rina was barely able to walk on her own, but Leo supported her every step of the way. The three children, Spencer, Sydney, and Jess followed along. [Music 19.3]
Felix peered outside the airship to make sure no soldiers were nearby.
“Where’s Bailey?!” Forrest asked, but Jess only gave a disappointed look.
“We still need to find Lydia and get our weapons back,” Felix said.
Warren’s height barely fit into the airship if he stood up straight. He crouched his way towards Felix.
“Allow me to assist you. I may not be able to fight without a weapon, but once we find them, I will be able to help. For an external reason, I would like to add that I am quite familiar with Bafuul.”
“Awesome! What do you use anyway?”
“We have no time for questions, let us move.”
Leo called out to them. “Hey, what about Rina and the children?”
Forrest wanted to touch all of the buttons on the ship, but he hesitated. While looking around, he asked Felix, “And don’t you wanna see Clyde and your dad??”
Felix stopped for a second, but he knew what was necessary in such a short amount of time. “If I don’t find my father, then so be it. Asking him questions can wait. As for Clyde, we can’t challenge and talk to him with a group like this right now. Besides, he has a lot of backup especially in a place like Bafuul, so we have to wait until he’s drawn out to an isolated area.”
Forrest took out his cubed bazooka. “Since I’m the only one who has a weapon, you all should go and I will protect my friends!”
Leo stood up. “No, I will. I do fight with gloves as well. The only thing that makes me stronger is the brass knuckles, but that’s just icing on the cake.” He then grabbed the orange shard out of his pocket. “And Felix, catch! Make sure Lydia gets a hold of it as soon as you find her!”
Felix barely caught it, almost slipping out of the airship. “Thanks, will do!”
Rina awkwardly took out the flail weapon that she received way back in the Town of Igor. She raised it towards Felix. “Don’t forget about this.”
Felix laughed. “Of course!! It’s meant to be for her once she gets most of her shards!”
Forrest grinned at the fact that he was told to leave the airship for a little while. “Hrm… but I wanted to hang out with my friends more.”
Leo grabbed Forrest by the shoulders. “You will have time for that after this is all over. Right now, it’s smarter to protect those that you can for now. Felix’s group relies on you because you have a long-ranged weapon.”
Forrest tried to give a smile. “Y-You’re right! Okay, I will go with Mr. Felix and Master Warren!”
“Please, just call me by ‘Warren’. I am no master.”
“Good for you, lieutenant. Let’s go!” Felix said without much care.
As the three of them left, the airship became quiet.
Spencer wanted to cry again. “There he goes, always leaving us…” [End music]

Follow My Slang!

~ Bafuul – east wing ~

Garnett tried to slash Lydia relentlessly, also destroying parts of the ground below them. Lydia made a backflip and Garnett sliced the air, hoping that a large gust of wind would knock her over. She was almost able to, but Lydia tried to keep a heavy stance. Lydia’s entire body was pushed further away, but she stopped her fall with her shoes, sliding across the ground. [Music 26.1]
Lydia’s face wasn't filled with fear, but with an anguish look. The only thing contrasting her face were the tears that she could not control – the fear shard was taking its effect. By now, Lydia could control her feelings, but not the tears which did nothing but obscure her vision.
Garnett was breathing heavily from exhaustion.
“What’s wrong, little girl?” Garnett teased. “All you’re doing is running away. And what happened to that frightened look on your face from earlier? I want to see more of that!”
Lydia clenched her teeth. “Although I can’t fight someone with a large axe, I can still avoid you!”
“I see you’ve got some intimidating bravery within you; however, I am not afraid!” She raised her axe again but a gunshot passed the side of her hips.
Garnett leaned over, yelping in pain. She sat down with one knee up to her chin.
            “What the hell was that?!”
As Garnett fell to the ground, Lydia could see Floir standing several feet away behind her.
“Enough is enough,” Floir said. “You all have caused a disturbance to Bafuul.” She blew into her gun’s trigger. “Ah, what do we have here? It is disturbing to see the Obsidian out of her room. We were supposed to extract her energy again.
Garnett’s body gave out a slight amount of electricity.
Floir was astonished. “What in the world?”
“You have angered me…” Garnett said, raising her voice. Her eyes were red, enough so that you could no longer see her iris nor pupils.
Lydia took a step back. “M-Maybe now is a good time to sneak away,” she told herself.

~ Bafuul – the left end of east wing – storage room ~

Near the beginning of the east wing, Warren quickly opened one of the doors.
“The storage room must be here. I remember this from when I used to be a Bafuulian guard.”
Felix jumped. “That’s awesome! It’s nice to have an ex-soldier with us.”
Felix was the first to rush in, but he made a sudden stop. He made the loudest gasp which came to a surprise to Forrest, seeing as he has never been this surprised before.
Forrest’s heart skipped a beat. “Mr. Felix? What is it…?”
Felix’s legs were slightly shaking. “Is that you?” Inside the storage room was a tall man who stood with a red cap and glaring eyes that resembled Felix’s whenever he was angry. His military outfit resembled more of the governmental garments from Gammel. “Father.”
Mr. Wolfram turned around. “If I am not mistaken, you are Felix.”
Felix squinted his eyebrows in concern. “Are you really my father?! After all these years, you’ve finally showed up.”
“I knew you would come here.”
“Now? Where the hell were you all this time, damn it?!”
“As a child, you were always the sneaky one. You always had your way and you used to cheat off the marketers back at the Village of Saradeli.”
Forrest smiled. “Whoa! Felix was a thief?! How non-heroic.” He joked.
“This isn’t funny,” Felix tried to be serious. “I just don’t understand. What are you trying to do? Why haven’t you come back? What are you doing in the gov-“
“Slow down, young one!” Mr. Wolfram said with his deep and raspy voice. He had the crescent blade, the brass knuckles, and Forrest’s BB gun on the ground in front of him. He then took the large steel hammer from the wall which was partially dusted. [End music]
Forrest took out his cubed weapon. “He’s gonna attack his own son?!”
“I am not here to fight,” Mr. Wolfram said. He then threw the weapon at Warren, followed by one kick to each weapon that belonged to the main group. “I am here to return these.”
            “Why are you helping us?”
Mr. Wolfram yawned. “To be honest… I joined the Gammel government in hopes of adding a referendum to protect and increase the wealth of the Village of Saradeli. In order to do that, I had to keep patient for several years. I wanted to come home someday to my beloved family but only when the village’s referendum was accepted.”
            Forrest tugged onto Warren’s pants. “Um, what’s a referen-whatever?”
“A referendum is a proposal to seek recognition for unprivileged ideas such as wealth – in particular, the Village of Saradeli.”
“Oh. I get it.” Forrest lied as he happily grabbed onto his BB gun. [Music 26.2]
Felix was facing the ground in shame. “You mean… all this time, you were still trying to find ways to make the village look better?”
“What else would I leave for?”
“I thought you left because you were selfish,” Felix’s heart sank. He wanted to tell the truth, and the truth he finally told. His nose burnt and he fell to the ground. “I… I didn’t know you cared that much. I didn’t know, I didn’t know!” He punched the ground angrily. “All this time, I was angry that you didn’t come home to support the family! I only complained year after year in bitterness, thinking that the only way to survive was to take food from merchants and then one day storm off into a bigger city!”
Mr. Wolfram was silent. He also felt guilty having to unintentionally turn his child into a thief.
Felix wiped his tears away. “No, I shouldn’t cry.” He stood up with his eyes closed. “Father, please come home. Mother and I don’t care if the village is poor. She never wants to leave and it’s because she believes you’ll come home someday. So please, please come home with us, dad!!”
“I cannot. I made a vow to create that referendum. The time is almost soon, Felix. I can almost feel it.”
Felix interrupted him. “No, you don’t understand! You’re blind at what the Gammel government is really trying to do!”
Warren gasped. “Felix, do not speak to your father that way.”
“It is okay, ex-lieutenant Warren. I had some suspicions about the government as well.” He began to sit on a desk nearby. “To tell you the truth, I met the Obsidian earlier. What was her name, Lydia Yager?”
            “You met her?!”
“I was the one who told the lieutenants to send her into the bedroom and ordered them all to protect Bafuul in the most obscure ways.”
            “What do you mean…?”
Mr. Wolfram began laughing. “To be honest, I knew my son was causing trouble again, but this time, to the government! Now that’s my son!” The group became silent. “I purposely made Lydia rest in the bedroom as an excuse to delay this ‘extraction’ that Master Magnus wanted to do. I knew you would come to rescue Lydia as soon as possible. Then, I had the lieutenants guard areas where you could easily sneak away from. Have you noticed that they were absent in the west wing and central hallway?”
Forrest tilted his head in confusion. “What about Bailey?”
“Oh that person? That was my mistake, bahah!” [End music]
The group of three fell to the ground.
Mr. Wolfram continued, “Yeah, I didn’t know that kid was a new member, but hey, you still went through him! Or her? I still don’t know, geesh!”
“Dad, why are you acting so calm?” [Music 12.1]
Mr. Wolfram shrugged. “I guess I’m just proud that my son made it this far. Now, I ask that you find your friend and leave as soon as possible. My orders to the lieutenant only came as far as here.”
Felix shook his head. “Alright, but where’s Clyde?!”
“Clyde, your best friend, and son of our favorite neighbors? Ah, I told him to take an expedition outside of Bafuul. He left with an airship. I just wanted to make sure you two did not clash again or else that would be a big problem.”
            “I see…” Felix frowned.
Warren had his hand on his chin. “Ah, so that’s why there were only four airships remaining at the central hallway. That makes sense now.”
“Master Magnus is almost on his way to Bafuul. He will be here in a few minutes to check on Lydia’s extraction. I know you’re also looking for one of the shards, but Clyde must be holding it. As for me, I promise to come home someday, but now is not the right time. Promise to me that you will be okay and I will make sure to locate you when things simmer down. I suggest you hurry!”
Felix agreed and he ran out the door. He turned back to his father, “Father… Thank you so much. I… I’m sorry for all of the things I’ve thought about you all these years. I’m a terrible son…”
“Do not say such things, Felix! Stay proud and keep at your goals!”
Felix placed his crescent blade back into his sheath. “I promise! See you next time, father!”
Warren and Forrest followed him out of the storage room.
Mr. Wolfram waited until things quieted down. “Felix, you have grown so much since the last time I saw you. Your mother has done a wonderful job.”

~ Bafuul – east wing ~

Back on the east wing, Lydia was trying to make her way out of the hall, but Garnett’s rage shook the entire room. Parts of the ground that she destroyed was floating in mid-air all around her. She was surrounded by red aura, but how was she able to do this?
Floir took a step back. “It is like she is not human! Is she possessed with Obsidian energy?”
Lydia was already dropped to the floor. She had trouble trying to get up from the vibrations.
“Possessed by Obsidian energy?” She thought. “This must be what Warren was talking about! The Gammel scientists must have used some on humans and this was the result. But, why would Garnett have energy in her if she’s not a part of the Gammel army?”
Garnett ran towards Floir. It was as if she teleported right in front of Floir’s eyes. Garnett dropped the axe and she gave a huge punch to Floir by the face. Floir crashed into the walls next to her and Garnett followed her into the wall. Floir barely ducked down before Garnett punched the walls. Any slower and Garnett would have smashed her face! [End music]
Lydia tried to stand up. The whole room was still shaking from Garnett’s rage. As soon as she could, Lydia made her way to the other side of the room where Floir was previously standing. Another large shake started and Lydia fell again.
“Lydia!!!” Felix shouted from several feet away. [Music 26.3]
Lydia looked forward with the hugest smile on her face. “F-Felix?! IT’S YOU!!”
As the ground continued to shake, Felix fell over right when he was in front of her. They both clashed foreheads and then fell onto the ground. The shaking was calmer this time.
Lydia caressed her forehead and then tears came out of her eyes. “Felix, I’m so happy to see you, oh my gosh!”
Felix laughed. “I feel the same way!” He looked into her eyes. “Are those tears because you can’t control them or…?”
“No, no, this time, I’m really crying. I’ve missed you and everyone so much. It was such a scary journey down here in Bafuul, I couldn’t take it. I almost thought I would never see you again. Oh, and Forrest, and Warren too! I’m so glad you’re both safe!”
Felix was blushing at the sight of Lydia’s happiness. “You know, it’s kind of weird and awkward seeing how happy you are. The last time I saw you, you barely remembered Rina, heh…”
Lydia pouted. “Hmph. That’s because I only had three shards. OH! Speaking of Rina, where is she?!”
“She’s safe with Leo and Forrest’s friends. Come with us!”
            “Of course I will!”
Felix softly held onto her hand. “Hey, Leo and Rina got these for you.” He gave her the orange shard along with the flail. Lydia checked behind her. “Uh, hold onto the shard. It always takes a while to install once I touch it. We need to get out of here quickly!” She only grabbed onto the flail.
“Why? What’s happeni- AHH!” Felix watched Garnett toss Floir back into the hallway.
“That’s what I was talking about!” Lydia said. The ground shook heavier this time and the group could barely stand. Well, at least Warren could stand…
Floir took sight of the group. “The Obsidian!”
Garnett punched her onto the floor. “No you don’t!!”
Forrest gasped. “Oh no! That Garnett girl tossed Floir onto the… floor.”
Felix rolled his eyes. “Is now the time for puns?!”
Warren threw Forrest onto his back and then he grabbed Felix’s back collar, who was still holding onto Lydia’s hand. They connected like a train with four carts.
“We’re rushing out of here!” Warren said as the rest of the group screamed in fear of falling over.

The Real Lydia

~ Bafuul – central hallway - airship ~

Back in the central hallway, Felix, Lydia, Forrest, and Warren made their way into the airship. As soon as Lydia stepped in, Rina opened her eyes widely. [End music]
Rina stood up, ignoring the fact that she had to limp her way towards Lydia. It didn’t matter. Lydia ran through most of their distance as they finally hugged again. [Music 18.1]
Rina tried not to cry. She hugged Lydia as tightly as she could. “Oh Lydia, I’m so glad you’re safe!”
Lydia giggled. “I always make it through to the end, Rina. Heehee!”
“And you’re laughing again too! I’ve never seen that much laughter since we left the meadow together.”
Lydia pointed to Felix, Forrest, and Warren. “You should thank them for risking their safety for me. They went through a hallway and…” She almost forgot about Garnett and Floir. “Actually, we should talk about this after we take off.”
Forrest ran towards the piloting station. “Ooh, ooh! I wanna try!”
Sydney slapped him. “Ugh! Forrest! Stop doing stupid things!”
Felix, Leo, and Spencer laughed together. Jess chuckled.
Warren paced his way to the station. “I have piloted an airship a few times before. Allow me.”
He began pressing buttons that nobody in the airship understood. Lydia placed Rina onto the nearest seat while Felix was looking out through the window.
“The lights in the hallway are breaking. The entire hallway doesn’t seem to be stable.”
“What do you mean?” Leo went to check through the window as well. “What?! Parts of the hallway are breaking apart!”
“You mean the entire room is just falling?!” Felix panicked. “But my father might still be in there!”
The ship shook, indicating that it was finally starting up. “Goodness, this ship is still in top condition!” Warren said to the group. As the ship was starting to fly, Forrest begged for it to fly faster. “I cannot make this ship go any faster at the startup. It must keep its pace.”
            “Aww! Darn it!”
Lydia kindly asked to take the orange shard while waiting for the ship to fly upward. An orange light was shining in front of her. The group had to close their eyes because this was one of the brightest gleams they have ever witnessed, compared to any other shard before. After about several seconds, Lydia felt enlightened again.
“Phew! For some reason, with just six shards, I already feel back to normal. We still need that last one.” [End music]
Felix turned around. “About that…” [Music 9.1]
Garnett punched the ground from afar and Floir avoided the attack. Instead, the attack caused the floor to break apart, but at a specific direction towards the central hallway as if an underground monster was breaking through the floor. Eventually, the bricks from the bottom level shattered and some of it struck the ship’s engine from below.
Felix gave the most frightened expression as he saw the entire hallway practically collapse in front of his eyes. “FATHER!!!”
The ship tipped over but Warren was still piloting. It was going up faster now and outside towards the ceiling. With the engine slightly broken, the ship tilted by the ceiling exit and the right side of the ship crashed onto the rooftop.
“No…” Felix said slowly. He tried to shake off his fear.
Half of the group was panicking now. The ship was still able to fly, but it was very shaky. Warren tried to steer away but the directional keys were not working to his advantage. All he could do was steer without a direction as the airship was moving on its own.
Forrest fell over. “Wait a minute, Warren, the ship is going too fast now!”
“I can’t control its speed anymore!”
“So much for top condition,” Leo shrugged.
Felix panicked. “This isn’t the time for jokes. We’re going to crash!”
Sydney looked through the window. She pointed outside. “Look! I see Kyrie!”
Forrest followed them. “And there’s the Lake City Prima!”
Spencer’s heart was beating abnormally fast and Jess was the first to notice. She tried to give Spencer a hug. “It will be alright, Spencer. Just stay calm!”
Spencer was breathing faster. “H-H-Hel- Help- H-“
“It will be okay, it will be okay!” Jess repeated.
On the other side of the ship, Rina and Lydia spotted another airship passing adjacent to them as if it came from Vector and the Meadow. That didn’t matter at this point. Their own ship was plunging closer to the ground!
At this point, the ship was flying downward and the group had just past Lake City Prima. The airship made its way to the north and Warren tried to at least control the speed. He pulled the control stick downward, hoping that the brakes were still working.
            “Is it working?!” Felix shouted.
“Only by a little bit! EVERYONE! Hold onto something as hard as you can!!!” Warren commanded.
Lydia and Rina held onto each other with one hand while their other hand gripped onto the nearest attached desk. Jess was holding onto Spencer while gripping onto their chair. Sydney and Forrest held onto the drawers that were attached to the wall while Felix and Leo grabbed onto the upper rails on the ceiling.
“This is going to be a very difficult landing!” Warren said one more time as they were heading straight onto the plains. Some of them wanted to appreciate the peaceful-looking land that was in front of them, but not until they safely landed. Were they safe? [End music]
The ship was facing 45 degrees towards the greenish land at an enormously high speed and all they could do now was close their eyes and pray for their safety…
[Ending 2 music]

Next time on The Obsidian Tale, someone unexpected will appear and tell the story of Waltzer. As the story progresses into volume 3, we will go deeply into the history of Rhadessia. It seems Warren had something to do with the historic wars from 20 years ago, yet Waltzer lived as long as 1,000 years! Wait a minute, besides the history, what happened to the main group who was crashing down into the plains?! Find out on the next episode!

Episodes 1-25 are now up!

ALL current updates are now complete!
After a struggling quarter, I've managed to pass all my classes with several A's and A+'s (except for one) while someone important to me passed away in the middle of it, so it was a really complicated.

Anyway, thanks to Spring Break, I got back on my feet and finished the updates, along with title releases for the remaining of the entire series. I tried not to make them look like spoilers. There are also new characters on the character list along with each and every past character being updated with information.

As for the next new updates, I need to prepare episode 26, plan opening 3 before episode 27 is posted, draw several new characters from volume 3, and give more insight on my next story! Until then, see ya!

Episode 25 - Bafuulian Jailbreak

The Obsidian Tale

Episode 25
[Opening 2 music]

~ Bafuul – isolated bedroom ~

“If saving the world means so much to everyone and even to myself, then it doesn’t matter if I lose something valuable. It doesn’t matter if the Gammel army wants to use my Obsidian energy. As long as it helps preserve the world, then so be it! As long as I survive, then…!” Lydia closed her eyes, ready to slice her hand away from the handcuffs. “H-Here goes nothing!!” [Music 17.2]
In her mind, every thought passed her head in a flash, but it felt like eternity. “I will never be the same,” Her mind processed. “But it doesn’t matter. If I learn to care for the world, for my friends, and cherish them as my most lovable aspects of life, then it doesn’t matter what I lose!”
A steel arrow flew in from the doorway and it shattered the handcuff that locked Lydia’s wrists together. Lydia’s heart skipped a beat as she dropped the ventilation blade into the three-foot pool of water in the bedroom.
Lydia watched as the woman by the doorstep called out for her to make a run for it. The woman had the Gammel military outfit on, but Lydia had no time to question someone who just saved her life.
“Th-Thank you! But why? Why did you, a Gammel personnel, save an Obsidian like me?”
“You do not have time for questions.” The woman said with a stern voice. “Escape with your friends. The Gammel army will discover me eventually.”
            “My friends are here?!”
“They have just been sent into Bafuul. I must go.”
Lydia tried to stop her. “W-Wait! Where are they held in?! Please tell me!” Instead, the woman continued to run upstairs without saying anything else nor did she look back.
“Oh…” Lydia sighed. “It’s okay. I have to figure this out on my own.” She thought about how the woman just saved her, but she tried to shrug it off. “I don’t need anyone else to save me.” [End music]

~ Bafuul – upper west wing ~

Sydney was standing closest to the jail bars in her cell with Spencer and Jess. She had her hands beside her hips.
            “Girls,” Sydney joked.
Spencer was crying. “I’m a boy!!” [Music 14.2]
“Not with all that crying.” She turned to Jess, “That boy’s been at it for hours! Can’t we make him shut up??”
The group of three children looked the same as ever, just with a little more dirt on their face. As usual, Spencer only had one lens on his glasses while the other was shattered. They were in need of new clothes, but this was the end of their lines. They were sent to jail for life.
Jess was trying to keep calm. She said to Sydney, “We must keep at our own pace, Sydney. Spencer is young, and we have to respect his pace.”
Sydney rolled her eyes. “Ugh, he’s only like what, a year younger?? And what’s worse is that we have this creepy girl standing outside our cell thing for no reason.”
Jess took a look at the ‘girl’ outside the cell.
Spencer wiped his tears and he was still sniffling. “Um, I think that’s a boy.”
“NO. Shut up. She’s a girl.”
The boy-girl turned around. “P-Please, keep it down.”
“Did you hear her voice? Clearly a girl,” Sydney added.
Spencer disagreed. “No, that was a young boy voice!”
Jess stood up. “The both of you – let’s not judge this person.” She turned to the person outside the cell, “What is your name? You don’t look like you would work here with the Gammel army.”
Sydney became uninterested in the conversation, so she decided to continue picking on Spencer in the back.
“My name is Bailey. I was recently recruited to serve the Gammel army in order to stop those who choose to do wrong in this world. I am surprised you three started early.”
Jess chuckled. “Actually, we have no idea why we did it. We have a friend out there in this world right now. He’s probably traveling and finding a way to get revenge.”
            “Why?”
“We both clashed with this woman who worked with Lieutenant uh, Floir, right?”
Bailey blushed. “Floir… I’ve always wanted to work with her ever since I joined. She is quite a beauty in the eyes of leadership. She always seemed so strong, and she never talked about herself. I want to know her more.”
“Is that so? My friend opposes her quite a bunch, but I guess I would be going against my word to pre-judge Lieutenant Floir as well.”
            “What is your friend like?”
“He’s… very into being heroic. I really love his determination. That boy always walks around acting all big, thinking he can do anything. But, I believe in him. He’s not just talk, but I know he’s all action too. One thing I like about him most is that he’s protective and he accepts anyone who bears a light and kind heart.”
            Bailey frowned. “Huh??”
            “What’s wrong?”
“I feel like I’ve met someone similar to that. He kept telling me to stay away from the Gammel army, but he has no idea what the army can do to save the world.”
Jess tilted her head. “What exactly did the Gammel army tell you?”
“The world can be preserved with the help of the Obsidian. They say she refuses to help, and it sounds really selfish.”
Jess sighed. She wanted to tell Bailey that it might be because taking energy from her may come with a high cost, but she didn’t want to argue with someone who just joined the Gammel government.
“So tell me, Bailey, why did they choose you?” [End music]
“That’s one thing I still don’t understand. I never wanted to ask or else the higher people would yell at me…”
“I see…” Jess turned around and she had a concerned look on her face. She then grabbed her cape from behind as she looked into its red shading.

~ Bafuul – isolated bedroom ~

After Felix, Rina, and Leo were pushed into the prison room, a soldier kicked Forrest’s behind and the poor boy flew into the cell. His face was slapped against the brick walls. [Music 25.1]
“Owie! I’m gonna get you for that!!” Forrest said with a giant bruise above his head.
Felix and Leo quickly placed Rina on the only bed that was available.
“It’s a good thing they have a chair too,” Forrest ran up to the so-called ‘chair’ on the other end of the room. “Oh… it’s a pooper.”
Rina whined. “Ugh, even in prison… you’re annoying.”
Felix wiped his forehead. “Ergh… So we’re finally here. What is your plan now, Leo?”
Leo shrugged. “The easiest and most classic way was to have the only woman here try to seduce the soldiers but-“
“You make me do something else,” Rina said slowly, “and I will surely kill you when I feel better.” She made a slight cough afterwards.
Felix gave a nervous laughter. “Eheh, a-at least she’s feeling better, right?”
            “This calls for Plan A.”
“Wasn’t Plan A to have Rina sed-“
            “That was Plan B.”
“Then why did you mention it earlier?”
“Because I realized I should have started with that since it would have been hilarious to watch.”
            Rina clenched her teeth.
Leo interrupted her growling. “Hey, hey! I was only kidding. This new plan has something to do with Forrest’s bazooka cube.”
Felix sighed. “That’s right… They just took our weapons. They wouldn't expect a weapon to be inside a toy cube.”
Forrest raised his cube into the air- or, jail ceiling. “Alright! Anything to quickly find my friends! Oh Spencer, Sydney, Jess! I’m comin’ for ya!”
Leo covered his mouth. “Stop yelling so loudly! We have to be smooth about this.”
He headed for the cell bars and he used his peripheral vision to check the ceilings outside of their cell.
The soldier turned around. “Hey, what are you looking at?” He said in a rude manner.
“Just admiring the layout of this building. I’m a carpenter, after all,” He lied.
“Well stop that. You are not allowed to do anything, not even to admire something from afar. E-Except for me.”
Leo raised his eyebrows. “You want me to admire you?”
The soldier became annoyed “NO! I meant only I can admire the buildings!”
Leo glared at him. “But why did you say ‘me’? You want to admire yourself?”
“I didn’t say that, damn it! I meant I want to admire me- UGH. I hate my job. Just shut your mouth and stop confusing me.”
            “That’s cold,” Felix commented.
“Shut your mouth!” The soldier shouted. He turned back to his post to mind his own business after the group became quiet.
Leo took a step back and he whispered to the group, “Alright, there are two cameras on the upper left and upper right corners. Now, I would have had Forrest use his regular BB guns to shoot them, but one, they took it away, and two, BB guns aren’t strong enough to break cameras. Instead, we will have to blast them with the bazooka.”
“But these bars are really narrow between each other. You can’t shoot with a bazooka like this,” Felix responded.
“Oh there is a way,” Leo said as he whispered into Forrest’s ears. [End music]

After about a few minutes, they perfected their plan. Forrest ran up to the bars with his hands behind his back. [Music 4.2]
            “Mister, mister! Guess what?”
            “What do you want?”
“These men know where the infiltrators are!”
Leo gasped. “Wh-What are you doing?!~”
Felix made the worst astonished surprise ever. “WAAUH- Don’t tell him about our plaAAaaAAAaaan!”
            Forrest smiled. “Nice acting!”
Rina rolled her eyes. “All of you were terrible.”
Forrest spoke over her, “Anyway, Mister Soldier, I have to whisper their plan to you because they’re gonna kill me if the Gammel army finds out what these jailers said.”
“Er, alright??” The soldier placed his head near the cage.
Forrest’s right hand was placed against the bars and the soldier’s ears. “Well…” It turns out that his right hand was holding the cube. He put his hand past the cell, pressing a button on the cube and it inflated, basically punching the soldier on the face.
“Agh!” The soldier said as he fainted.
Forrest quickly aimed at each camera. One after another, he exploded each camera which caused a ruckus in the entire room. Felix knelt down in front of Forrest to rummage into the soldier’s pockets from behind the bars. The keys were found!
Leo laughed. “Alright, it worked!” [End music]
Felix checked their jail cell as number 26, and he used the key that was labeled with the same number. As Felix unlocked the jail cell, a bunch of other men were begging to be set free.
Leo grabbed Rina as he tried to skid his way through the hallway. “We don’t have time to help others. Let’s go!”
Felix gasped. “You’re right. They must have done actual bad things…”
Forrest was already up ahead in the hallway and he spotted someone. “Hey look, Leo! It’s that big guy!”
            “Warren?!” Leo snapped. [Music 25.2]
The group headed towards cell number 42. Warren was already sitting down by the window, almost ready to rot away. His face was filled with sweat and dirt as if he gave up on trying to survive.
Forrest stole the keys from Felix’s grip.
            “H-Hey!” Felix said in surprise.
Forrest used key number 42 to unlock Warren’s cell. “Heehee!” Forrest gave Warren a huge hug which was odd mostly because Warren was still taller than Forrest while sitting down on the bed.
“What in the world?” Warren had an uncertain look on his face. “Please, do not waste more time on strangers whom you have barely met. You must escape without me. I have done a wrong deed for ‘exploiting’ information from my own side of the army.”
“I dunno what you just said about ‘exploding’ info stuff, but who cares! Let’s go!”
Rina said quietly, “I so want to correct what you just said…”
Forrest grabbed Warren’s left hand. “Come onnnnnn, let’s goooo!! Why aren’t you moving?!”
Warren was close to tears. “Wh-Why… Why do you care so much?”
Forrest stomped his foot. “Because you’re trustable and a good friend! You told us the truth about the Gammel army. We don’t know each other much, but we might as well start today! You shouldn’t choose to die. No one should. Besides, it’s more fun when we are in danger. It just keeps us going!”
Warren was amazed by the words of a child. “Hmph. That is quite a surprise… I should take advice from little kids more often.” He finally stood up. “I will only go because someone in this world really wants me to leave this place. For now, I will join you, but most likely only until we successfully escape together.”
            “Only until then??” Forrest whined.
Leo shook his head. “Let’s not push it, Forrest. We’re going to help him escape, but he chooses his path after escaping.”
“I thank you humbly, kind sir.” Warren bowed in front of everyone.
The group of five continued to make their way down the hall and Forrest kept looking through each cell, hoping to find his three friends.

Translating the Chivalrous

~ Bafuul – east wing ~

Lydia made her way up to the first floor, but she had no idea where she was running now that she forgot her way in from before. She noticed there were a bunch of offices. In the interior of Bafuul, the east wing was about a mile long and the west wing was the same. However, the east wing was for office and control rooms. The west wing, base, and second floors, were typically for the prisoners. Each end was like a hallway that looked quite similar to a regular school building’s interior. [End music]
A bunch of soldiers peered out of their offices. Er… actually, every single office door opened. [Music 4.3]
Lydia came to a stop. “U-Um…”
How did they all know she was making her way to this hallway?
One soldier laughed. “You didn’t think Sir Wolfram would alert us the moment the security guards saw you on camera, breaking free?!”
“My blood is boiling…” A female said from very far away. Her voice was loud that it echoed across the hallway. “I can feel her essence nearby, and I will smash every bits of her until she’s dead! Nyahahahha!!!!” Her laughter was followed by a bunch of panicking and screaming.
The soldiers became confused. This wasn’t a part of their trap.
Lydia trembled. “That doesn’t sound very good either…”
The alarm from above sounded. “Stop both the Obsidian and the woman in the east wing! There are a bunch of you. Keep at it!”

~ Bafuul – west wing ~

At the west wing nearby the upward staircase, the group of five made a sudden stop after hearing the announcements.
Felix turned to Rina with a smile, “That means Lydia was set free somehow!”
Rina tried to smile back at him. “Y-Yeah, heh.”

Lydia's Personality, Again

Forrest was in front of the group, but the moment he reached the top of the steps, he made a sudden trip.
Warren tried to help him. “Master Forrest, are you alright?”
Forrest turned around with another bruise to his face. “Beheh… I’m bokay.”
“Master Forrest?” Leo raised an eyebrow.
Felix was about to grab his crescent blade, but he realized nothing was in his sheath. “Damn it, we don’t have our weapons.” He glared over at the only person who refused to move away from the west wing.
Forrest pointed at the person. “It’s that boy!”
            Bailey’s head turned. “H-Huh?!”
Jess quickly grabbed onto the bars. “That voice!”
Forrest ran closer to Bailey, but Bailey quickly made a bunch of purplish holographic swords appear, surrounding his or her own entire body.
            “Hey, what’s the big idea?”
“How did that kid even do that?” Felix asked.
“Stay back,” Bailey commanded. Bailey’s voice trembled in fear.
Jess called out to the group. “Forrest, are you there?!”
Bailey gasped. “You know that boy?!”
“That’s the one I was talking about! Hehe.” Jess giggled.
Bailey sighed, looking up at the camera. Forrest took out his bazooka and Bailey was going to attack, but Forrest quickly shot the camera.
Bailey almost fell over from the explosion, but Jess helped the child up from behind the cage. Thanks to this, Bailey knew it was safe to help Jess out of the cage. Bailey took the key from one of the pockets and then used it on the cell, 205. [End music]
Jess was amazed. “You’re actually going to set us free?” [Music 12.1]
Bailey blushed, looking away. It’s only because you are all children. There is possibly no way that you could pull something so bad that you would be sent to prison for life.”
Jess nodded. “Thank you so much, Bailey. Do not be alarmed by Forrest. He is a nice person.”
Forrest ran towards Jess to hug her. “I’m so glad to see you!!”
Felix and Warren gave a soft laughter, glad to see that these children got to be together again.
Spencer and Sydney joined their group hug. Bailey stood there awkwardly.
“You two are here too!” Forrest almost cried. “It’s so nice to see you are all safe. I tried so hard to find you ever since I was at the Lake City Prima. That’s when I met this boy.”
“See?! I told you!!” Spencer whined.
Sydney rolled her eyes again. “Ugh, Bailey is a girl. I swear.”
Jess interrupted their little reunion. “We all need to get out of here.”
“But how?” Spencer said with a runny nose.
Bailey coughed. “Um, there was a ship that took me here in the first place. The central hallway connected between the wings should take you to the airship station. It is pretty small and can fit only about four little planes.”
Forrest hugged Bailey. “Thanks so much!”
Felix said to Rina, “Hopefully Lydia is there.” He was also worried about Clyde and seeing his own father, but to make Rina feel better, he only mentioned Lydia for her sake.
The main group ran ahead and the two youngest children followed along. Forrest turned around and waved at Jess and Bailey, “You two should come along! We really need to hurry. After that, we’ll talk more!”
As Forrest moved on ahead, Jess began to run, but she made a stop after noticing that Bailey didn’t move.
            “You are not coming?”
“My duty is to serve the Gammel army. The only thing I can assist you with is getting you out of here. If it is okay, I will say that your friends have taken over. Master Magnus will not give me any penalty as a new member.”
Jess grinned. “Are you sure it’s okay?” Jess noticed Bailey still had a demented, grim expression, almost seemingly unmovable. “I need to ask you a question first.” Bailey listened to her. “What happened to y-“
“Jess, Bailey!! Come on, let’s go!” Forrest called out.
Jess walked closer to Bailey to give a soft hug. Bailey blushed.
            “H-Huh?! What’s that for?”
“It’s my way of praying for your safety. It helps keep the both of us calmer – knowing that our share of warmth will be remembered and cherished, forever.”
            “Forever…” Bailey repeated.
“I want to see you again someday,” Jess said. “Happier.”
Bailey made a loud gasp. Jess began to run towards the central hallway and Bailey stood there alone in despair and confusion. [End music]

~ Bafuul – east wing ~

Garnett hacked and slashed through each enemy who got in her way with almost no effort at all besides running straight through. Lydia watched from afar but all she could see were flying soldiers who were thrown against the ceiling. [Music 25.3]
“How is she that strong?” Lydia said in fear. “That makes no sense.” She readied her fists, wondering if her martial arts were even good enough to reach Garnett without getting struck.
In distraction, both of Lydia’s arms were caught by soldiers on each side. A female soldier pushed Lydia back.
            “Do not move!”
            “Agh!” Lydia yelped. “Stop it!”
By then, all of the soldiers in front of Garnett were on the ground, screaming in pain, and screaming for their mothers.
“Lookie here, only two more soldiers to go.” Garnett rose her axe.
Lydia closed her eyes. “Stop it!!!!!”
Garnett thrashed her axe against the ground and the floor crackled and separated into two. Both ends of the rolling floors past the soldiers. The wave from the axe and rocks pushed the soldiers behind and Lydia was the only one standing.
“Saved the best for last, hehe! Prepare to die, fiend!”
Lydia panicked. “Why do you hate me so much?! I don’t understand!”
“Just the sight of you makes me sick!”
            “Is that it?”
“Do I need a better reason?” She rose her axe.
Lydia took a step back. “(How do I escape this one?!)”

~ Bafuul – central hallway ~

The main group of five including the three children made their way to the hallway. There were about ten soldiers guarding the mini airships at this point. The rest were busy at the east wing – well, they’re pretty much out cold thanks to a certain someone. Only four of the five airships docked within the little room.
Leo still had Rina on his back. He was at the back of the line, but he told everyone to step back and wait until the soldiers were not looking. In front of them was a circular room, of course, with four ships as mentioned. All the ships were positioned in a way where none were placed on the exact center. There was an empty space for a fifth airship which wasn’t present. As Leo reached the front of the line, he had an idea. [End music]
Forrest took out his cubed bazooka and he aimed at the camera up on the corner where no soldier stood. [Music 19.3]
“Will this really work?” He asked.
Leo shook his head. “Once you shoot the camera, all of the soldiers will walk across the circular hall in front of us. With the clearing, you should blast the ground below them just so you don’t kill them, but at least drop them to the bottom floor.”
Felix scratched his head. “Er, wouldn’t that injure them for months?”
“If they’re unlucky,” Leo shrugged. The group glared at him, confused about his sudden change in mercy. “Hey, it’s better than killing them.”
“Gee, you’re such a kind soul,” Felix said with sarcasm.
Warren coughed. “If I were you, I’d just slash them into pieces and then burn them in a fire.”
Felix gulped. “L-Lieutenant! I didn’t know you were so vulgar.”
            “I am?”
Forrest interrupted them with a whisper, “Bang!” He said as he shot with his bazooka towards the camera. Felix fell over from the unexpected startup.
The soldiers began asking each other about the explosion, but they decided to check the wall where Forrest shot. Forrest ran into the circular central hall and then he shot the ground below all ten of the soldiers.
“Waaaah!” Most of them yelled as they fell to the bottom floor.
Forrest raised his hands. “Woohoo! We finally reached the airships!”
Felix laughed. “Alright! We still need lots more to do here, but we’re pretty much halfway done with our business in Bafuul. Let’s all hide in the airship and plan our next tactic really quick!”
The group agreed as they all ran into the airship together. Halfway done through Bafuul, but there is still lots to do… [End music]
