Magnus - Character Page

Master Magnus
- "You cannot defy the fate of the world without the touch of a true Obsidian. Rhadessia will be in the hands of one that has lost his history forever!"

Characteristics - Magnus is the central and sole leader of the Gammel government. At first, he appears as a silhouette or somebody else several times. He stands as one of the best actors in Rhadessia, seeing as though he can go from serious to trickster to jokester to lovable, to the most gruesome man in the world. His true identity hides within his past history. The identity hides between the worlds of old and new, but this is not explained until later.

Appearance - Being the main president of the Gammel government, Magnus is be feared by many, simply based on his facial appearance. He has longish, dark brown hair and eyes. One of his eyes is actually red, given as though he gained a permanent scar across the left side of his face, and a continuous burn mark following that. He wears a grayish scarf specially made by an unknown history, following light black army that seems scathed. He has old bat-like wings that might even show bones, but most of his is covered behind flame-like artificial wings.

Story plot (contains spoilers) -
Magnus starts out as a cameo character. His very first appearance was technically at the Lake City Prima during Lydia, Forrest, and Leo's first visit. He is seen as a hooded man while talking to Bailey.

When the group arrived at the Opel Plains, it was assumed that Magnus arrived at Bafuul after they all escaped from the large prison.

In Vector, Magnus is disguised as a quirky boy named Argus who purposely wasted the main group's time to stall them of their actions and to let Clyde run away.

During the Lament arc, Magnus appears again as Argus. When his plan gets destroyed, he throws a tantrum and this reveals Magnus' true form. It is still questionable as to how he has the ability to go from a tall hooded man, to a short quirky boy, to another tall but completely unexpected-looking man.

At the City of Celestia, Magnus makes another appearance with his true form from Lament. He destroys the seventh, red shard that Lydia was searching for all along. After Lydia tells him that she doesn't need the red shard anymore, Magnus becomes frustrated and destroys most of Celestia all over again, separating the entire group. It is still questionable as to why he wants all the shards for himself.

Magnus makes haste to the Frolix Volcano in order to receive the power of fire, as a continual catalyst to his plans that were not yet mentioned.

He secretly follows Lydia's group all throughout Amitt in order to reach the Tree of Revision - reviving both Felix and Professor Igor. Unfortunately for the main group, Magnus was able to take control of both that were revived. He also worked with Clyde to trick the main group when arriving to Lumious.

Magnus creates a tower north of the Village of Saradeli, notably above the Mago'Ria Fey. At this tower, Magnus controls Bailey to stab Jess, laughing at Forrest for his inability to save his friend.

Throughout most of Volume 5, Magnus takes the backseat and watches as all his towers and summoned monsters take over the world from every crevice. He does make an appearance on a battleship during the Battle of Lament, murdering Felix's father along the process.

Magnus then creates the final dungeon, Zozna, as an attempt to revive his home that was taken away from him 1,000 years ago - the true reason why he took as much energy as he could from Rhadessia. Zozna also reveals a past vision of Magnus' dehumanization as a child which included decapitation with his arms, etc.

In the end, Magnus refuses to comply with the main group, and Felix volunteers to become the next vessel that Magnus takes while getting killed - thus being forced to end the cycle of reviving.
