Ekaja
- "Monsters, humans, outsiders, Obsidians - they all have something in common: a chance to be loved and to return that love if we meet them halfway."
Characteristics - Ekaja may look intimidating and quick-tempered, but she is kinder than she looks! She is a loving wife of Mahaj back at the tribal village of Taujiko, a land west of the green mainlands. Of course, you shouldn't take her kindness for granted. She strongly believes in her own opinions and views so much that she would stick to it until the very end - causing her to agree and leave the village when the chief threatened her to be exiled for caring about outsiders like Lydia. Ekaja is probably the reason why Lydia is also kind but strong-willed in her beliefs.
Appearance - Born from the tribe of Taujiko, Ekaja must keep the marks on her face to represent the independency of her of people. Her dark skin suggests that she is islander, and the white hair is not of her natural hair color. It is also a representation of 'healing', a very important skill that the Taujikans have acquired. You can't see it, but she is wearing a gray dress that stops right above her ankles. It is naturally woven from herself.

Story plot (contains spoilers) -
At the Meadow, Ekaja first debuts and is seen with a bunch of wrinkles, her hair in a bun, and old, tattered clothing. She also had a paddle with her in case of intruders, almost attacking Lydia by accident. She reveals herself as the adoptive mother of Lydia as she explains how the two of them met, including both Rina and Mahaj (her husband who had recently passed away).
In the flashback, Ekaja was only one of the two persons who accepted outsiders entering the tribal village of Taujiko. Lydia and Rina entered respectively and Ekaja took them in as her own children. After Viola enters, the chief threatens Ekaja to either stay or leave with the girls. In rebellion, she decides to leave with the children along with Mahaj.
After the scenes from the present, she is offered to live in the Village of Saradeli with the D'Alonzo parents so that she is no longer lonely. Easily accepting the offer, she makes her way to the village on their sailboat.
Ekaja reappears in the Village of Saradeli with the rest of the parents. She is also the healer and caretaker of the village.
She manages to survive throughout the series and becomes the best clerical support at the Saradeli infirmary, as assumed.
