Lionel - Character Page

Lieutenant Lionel
- "Hahaha! You pipsqueaks can't stand a chance against the lieutenant chosen to fight for justice. Stand in my way and I will slice those legs into shreds! ...Perhaps."

Characteristics - Lionel is kind of... an oddball in the series. He is rather rude, but deep down he can show his soft side. At the same time, he's capable of creating descriptive imaginations that involve gore if he needed to threaten his enemies. For his exterior, he would show no mercy towards his opponents as he serves to annoy Felix and his group of friends along the journey. Funny enough, he managed to be the second most feared lieutenant in the Gammel army.

Appearance - Lionel has one of the more normal outfits that need no further description. He has a green collar above his orange overalls. Two notable parts of him come from the reddish eyes which is pretty self-explanatory as to how frightening that could be, and the spiked hair to show his crazy side. To top it off, he has a scythe which no normal person would use in battle unless you're out to murder someone!

Story plot (contains spoilers) -
Lionel appears in the second episode to help Floir find Lydia and Rina. He clashes with Felix's group at the hideout, but loses to an apple and a childish strategy by Rina and Felix.

He reappears at Felix's house at the end of the short village arc. He threatens Felix to give Lydia back or else his mother will be killed, but Rina disrupts the battle, leaving behind Mrs. Wolfram and Lionel.

Lionel successfully escapes from the capital docks after the disruption that Forrest caused.

At the end of Yucan Tempa, Lionel makes his way down from the chairlift, but Felix and Garnett both try to persuade him to stop the attack. However, Felix was forced to cut down the chairlift due to Lionel's persistence. In the end, Lionel falls into the pit of trees of a growing forest, not to be seen again and is assumed dead.

Although Lionel does not appear on episode 30, he was described by Mrs. Wolfram as a kind man who actually does show mercy.

Lionel makes a surprise reappearance in Lament as an ally for Leo and Warren.

Lionel follows Floir and Talbot to find Magnus.

He also partakes in Gammel's team as the finalist in Wiserheim's coliseum tournament; however, they end up failing.

During Saradeli's visits in Volume 5, Lionel helps the village improve, without wanting to show that he cares for its growth. He also supports Floir in the search for Magnus' towers all around the world, including Shiu Jo.

During Zozna's events, Lionel stays behind to support the defective Garnett, upset that she sacrificed herself in order to support the main group for entering the final dungeon.

He continues to support the Gammel government in the conclusion of the series.
