Rina Nora - Character Page

Rina Nora
- "I don't care who you are, nor if you were the damn president of the government. I will keep my vows even if it goes against your views!"

Characteristics - Rina is possibly the main comic relief in the story, but not because she is funny, but because she is plain rude to almost everybody but Lydia and Felix's mother. Not even a King or Gammel lieutenant would make her bow down respectfully. Because of her barbaric personality, she tends to be one of the strongest in the main group. She is the only character in the group to use magic for unknown reasons. Her biggest concern is whenever people touch her backpack.

Appearance - Although breaking the fourth wall, some characters in the story mention how odd it is that Rina has both reddish hair and a reddish color scheme throughout her outfit. She has a one-piece, large overall with teal designs signifying that she is the only magic user out of almost everybody in the world, besides Talbot and a few others such as Lady Pria. As mentioned above, she cherishes her backpack the most and claims it is because her backpack is the only belonging that she left with when leaving home.

Story plot (contains spoilers) -
Rina debuts with Lydia in the first episode while running away from a bunch of Gammel soldiers. After accidentally shattering Lydia's shards into seven pieces, she brings Lydia to a random building which happened to be Felix's hideout. She still dreads the time when she clashed with Professor Talbot.

When exiting the building, she gets trapped by a bunch of Gammel soldiers along with their lieutenant, Lionel. Upon successfully escaping, she and the group enters Felix's main household to meet his mother. She quickly gives passive-aggressive respect towards Felix's mother (Mrs. Wolfram), asking if she could join her quest to find the shards. Felix disapproves, and Rina requests to give Mrs. Wolfram more time to think about it.

When the group heads over to the docks and divides, Felix runs into Rina again back at the household. When Mrs. Wolfram decided to stay, Rina ditched her and left alone with Lydia. Felix was forced to follow her, but she didn't really want him to anyway.

Rina and Felix separate again at Kyrie after arguing for several minutes. When Felix headed towards the central tree to find Jess, Rina appears again to blast a fireball directly at Jess. Luckily, she missed. Jess drops the shard and Rina was able to snatch it before Professor Talbot could retrieve it.

In the Town of Igor, Rina, Lydia, and Felix snuck into the research laboratory and there, Rina read plenty of disastrous information at the library. Following this, she spoke with Professor Nell in order to synthesize magic with weapons. Thus, Rina then chose to use throwing knives for the rest of her journey.

When Rina snuck into the main laboratory where Talbot resided, she retrieved the second shard and placed it in her backpack. This made Talbot somehow claim that he knew who she was.

In the Silver Forest, she lashes out against Felix and Forrest, claiming they don't understand what she has been going through. Furthermore, Rina managed to find a mythical woman named Lady Pria who could use magic, and that she's not really alive. Pria refused to teach Rina more magic until they met again.

During the train ride towards Ouli Brye, Garnett picks a fight with Rina (or it could be the other way around depending on who you root for...).

Finally at Ouli Brye, Rina urges to leave anybody behind if they refuse to quickly head for the capital and ask questions about the shards. When Clyde told her about the surprise attack during nightfall, Rina decided to infiltrate the capital and hope that Professor Talbot arrives as well.

Rina loses the fight against Talbot and considers herself weak, but Talbot offers her the shard for free for unknown reasons.

After the scenes of North Ouli Brye, Rina thinks back to the idea that Lydia may not be alive. After fainting from the lack of eating, sleeping, and excess use of magic power, Rina faints.

When she wakes up in the orphanage, Remy explains to her that Lydia may be alive and there is proof from a spirit lady.

At the Terrain Valley, she continues to argue with Felix about the need for water, but the Terraineous beast appears to attack them.

Upon arriving at the Vaticul Canyon, Rina finally learns her next magic element: Earth (a quick gag follows when she questions what 'Earth' is since they are not in the same universe as ours), but it ultimately boils down to just 'ground magic'. Lady Pria tells her that there is still a lot more to learn.

At the Yucan Tempa, Rina pushes herself to use Earth magic on the mountain slide to easily pass through the soldiers. However, this causes her to use a lot of magic energy and she becomes exhausted for the rest of the battle.

In the Aria River, Rina learns water magic but she learns there is still much to learn. Upon attempting to enter Troiya, she is disguised as a mother for Forrest and the gullible soldiers let them enter. She beats up the trio merchants in order to steal their Gammel armors, and thus, helping Felix and Leo enter with Gammel armor as well.

In the science laboratory, she fights against Professor Talbot for the Courage (orange) shard. She manages to take it, but in sacrifice of inhaling a little bit of chemical Obsidian energy. For the rest of the arc, she is no longer able to fight.

Rina was immediately sent to the inn as soon as the main group arrived at the Grandine Hillage. However, she manages to escape through the window and head for the Hollow Cavern. Off-screen, she was able to learn Wind magic.

When arriving at the Village of Saradeli, she feels guilt for destroying Felix's home, but she doesn't directly admit it.

At the Mago'Ria Fey, Rina is the only person that could defeat the skeletons infused with chemical Obsidian energy. As long as she has fire powers, she should be in the front line.

Starting with the Vector scenes, Rina becomes raspy and angry at the main group for making pointless moves. For example, Clyde heading for a 'floating city of Lament' is just a myth and that they should not worry. She is also the most hesitant towards Viola.

Moments after she argued with Lydia, they were forced to work together to survive the Li'Opa Jungles, making up for their arguments.

At the Mirror Lands, Rina reveals to the group that she had been hiding small, white angel wings behind her backpack, which explains why she 'cherishes' her backpack so much - so she could hide her wings. Felix lashes out on her, but she yells back saying he doesn't understand her family situation. Afterwards, Rina runs up the angellic stairway towards Lament.

In Lament, Rina argues with her parents, whom she have not seen in seven years. Still in bad terms, Rina gets thrown into the 'guest' room. In the room, Faris sneaks her way in to tell Rina that she still has her trust. When Rina manages to escape the bedroom, she runs into her parents again, having another argument. She claims she can save the world without her parents' help as she storms off. After escaping the castle, Rina discovers that the Stone of Concealment's side-effect is a bomb detonator, one which Faris just used. In the end, Rina crouches in front of her dying sister, Faris.

After the events, Rina runs away from the funeral to learn Lightning magic from Lady Pria. Returning to the funeral, Rina is given a letter written by Faris beforehand about their past history and sisterly love for each other.

At the throne room, Mr. Nora tells Rina that she is now exiled from Lament. Rina agrees, but warns his father that she will save the world while he sits and does nothing. Throughout the entire trip to the City of Celestia, she becomes calmer than ever before, while keeping to her true self.

In Celestia, she secretly picks up the blue plushie that Lydia wanted to trash away. Later on, she pairs up with Hazel at the library to learn more about her Avian heritage.

After the group separates in Celestia, Rina returns at Wiserheim's coliseum and save the group from losing the competition with newly gained ice magic. She then heads over to the volcano to enhance her fire capabilities with the help of Lady Pria.

At the Tree of Revision, Rina reveals to Lydia and the main group that she had the blue plushie all along, and that it is the catalyst for Felix's revival.

Rina joins Forrest, Leo, and Viola at the Boris San Jovi - a rollercoaster-like cavern before entering Lumious. Their trap to bind Clyde fails as a result, and Rina saves Forrest from the fire.

During volume 5, Rina returns with the group to her homeland, Lament. Still rejected by her parents, she notices that they've been less strict on her. Deep down, she knows they still put all their trust in her to save the world.

In the battle of Lament, Rina enters a battle ship and clashes weapons with Clyde, who manages to stab her in the back. She spends some time trying to find a pen and paper, to write a goodbye letter to all of those she cared about. Lydia stops her and motivates her to keep strong.

Even after being almost fatally wounded by Clyde, Rina decides to help the group and stop the giant bear from destroying the Village of Saradeli.

After seeing Magnus' past in Zozna, Rina still hesitates agaisnst Magnus and kept her vow to kill him.

Once Magnus was defeated, Rina returned to her homeland to become the true Princess of Lament to pass down the legacy of the winged humans.
